We had our first Click a Trick class yesterday.

It was fun. There was supossed to be another dachshund in the class, but I guess that fell through. So, it's just B&R and siberian husky named Isabella. We did some basic stuff with the clicker and then started into the first lesson. All the training I have done with Bailey really shows. If you don't remember, DH and I did a puppy and a basic class with Bailey before Reese came, and then DH did a basic class with Reese while I did an agility class with Bailey. When we work together, Bailey is very focused on me and what I am doing and my hand signals etc. Reese on the other hand, spent a lot of time just walking over to me, on the other side of the training arena. I did try to work with him when he came over, not interupting what I was doing with Bailey at the time, but it was a bit frustrating. Although, I think that's a topic for a different thread.

I think the class is going to be a lot of fun. The trainer is great, and it's very rewarding to see just how great Bailey is with the attention training with me. When we were in agility, the instructor said quite a few times that it's obvious just how much I work with him.

We are going to do things like, dance, spin, crawl, wave, roll over and a few others. It's going to difficult to get Bailey to roll over, we've tried before and he like hates it. Reese should be good with that one.

What fun! :banana: I've been trying to find time to start working with Cash again. I'd like to take him back for the Tips and Tricks class which sound similar to what you're doing! Good job!

That sounds amazing! Pixel was great with the clicker...I am not super co-ordinated, but it was still a blast. I can't wait to here how they do with their training. Glad all the hard work you did is paying off.

Sooo, what happens if you don't have a clicker handy. Will they still accept orders?

That sounds fun. I am tempted to take Tasha to a tricks class...she still needs so much socializing work!! And can run thru all her tricks so fast when a piece of meat or cheese is on offer, I need to teach her some new ones.

We definitely need pics of the boys at work!

This clicker class is for tricks. We already did basic obedience class. So they obey voice commands as well as hand signals. I'm pretty sure that you could start from the beginning with clicker training for basics, but this was just for fun. They do come when we click.

Sounds like a lot of fun!! We did a tiny bit of clicker training at the training workshop that I spoke at a few weeks ago. Now, when Pippit hears the clicker he comes running and sits in front me~just waiting for a command!
