Why do dogs kick their back legs after they potty?

Ya'll are cracking me up! Our weens don't "scratch/kick" but we have had fosters that do....

Ries does the scratching off thing. It's funny he didn't start doing it until this past year. He cracks me up sometimes he tries to scratch with all four paws at the same time and ends up propelling his self forward in a little hop.

Heidi is the Queen of scratching off...if she has 1 drop of pee in her she'll kick for a half hour, I swear. When I'm walking all of them she drives me batty because she'll kick and all the dirt, grass, leaves go flying all over the 4 boys

I usually get the dirt and sticks get kicked up in my face as I bend down to pick up the poo. Lots of my dogs do it. I've never taken a poll while outside with them. I'm just too happy they're peeing outside.

Cash does it. Sometimes even when he's on concrete. Trying to cover his poo, I guess.

Bailey only does it when we have fosters or visiting dogs. Makes sense.

I always have a good when he does it.
