Talking Official Jax surgery thread (latest news update 6 post#83)

I will update this any time I have more news, or if I don't have any news.....I'll update with that too.

It is 8:42 am in Austin, TX. Jax is comfortable, but sad. That's what the vet tech just told me when I called. They took him out to potty this morning, and he pooped on his own, but they had to express his bladder by hand. He was peeing on his own yesterday.......

He will go into surgery as soon as the Dr. arrives this morning (I'm thinking that should be around 9 am or so ????). They didn't give me a time.

I am not calling John with the update I just got. I don't think that he could handle hearing that his boy is sad and about his needing help to pee......

I will post as soon as they call me when he is out of surgery.

I like the title. Official Jax Surgery Thread. :D

Don't call John! Don't tell him. Poor guy is so upset now about his little man.

Let us know as soon as you hear something. I know it won't be for a while because they'll have to do the surgery and then wait for him to wake up.

He'll be just fine. You've been such a good doxie mom and whether he believes it or not John has been a good doxie dad. :D

Sending tons of back for Jax

The dye procedure and the surgery together shouldn't take more than about an hour and a half. 2 hours max. They are supposed to call as soon as they take the tube out of his throat that they use during surgery. I'm hoping to hear something by noon, but who knows......

Sending and I'll be anxiously awaiting updates. Dodgerslist is excellent. A few years back we had a doxie in the 'hood who had had surgery and they towel walked him--back legs in a towel sling, front legs walking. I'm sure that was after recovery time though. Eventually he walked on his own no problem, but with a cute wobble.
