Default New foster- This could only happen to me LOL

Hi guys. Yesterday DH was in the living room. I was getting ready for work when I heard him say "What the heck....!!!" and the front door opened.
I wasn't sure what was going on, so I got dressed and went outside where I'd last heard Miguel. He was NOWHERE to be found. I began to panic a bit, wondering where he went. I walked halfway down the block and back and couldn't find him.

I came back inside, shaking a bit, thinking of all the unrealistic but possible things that could've happened to him, when the phone rang. I thought for sure it was some terrorist group wanting a ransom for my husband (yes, I tend to be just a little over-reactive some times....)
Anyway- it was Miguel on his cell telling me to bring a leash out behind the house down a block. So I did.

Miguel was in the middle of the road with a VERY scared standard red dachshund. The poor boy was growling and shivering. I walked up to him with a treat and he wagged his little tail, but was still growly.

I put the leash around his neck and he started screaming (this of course brought attention from the neighbors...)
I tried to pick him up, but he rolled over on his back and pottied on himself.
I was afraid he'd try to bite me so I noosed his muzzle and picked him up.
As soon as he was in my arms, he relaxed. He snuggled under my arm and was shaking.

I brought him home and put him in a run by himself so my guys could smell him and vice versa.

He got out of the run and I found him inside (doggie door) curled up with my guys.

He is a very sweet boy, just a bit scared. He's not neutered, but appears to be well cared for.
Hopefully we'll find his owner, or else I suppose he'll become one of the Betancourt fosters!

    Anyway- here he is:

What a sweet little boy, gorgeous! Thank goodness your husband found him. I really hope he is chipped, but if his family can't be found...he couldn't have come to a better home. :angel7:

Thanks for taking him in. I'm sure he must have been scared. Have you found his owners yet?

Poor scared fella! I do hope you can locate his home, if he's a loved wanted dog. What are the odds that he should find you guys? He must have a guardian :angel7: !
