Yeah- capstar is awesome. We usually use it for new fosters coming in, but failed to this time. These fleas we're dealing with are on the small side, so I'm thinking they are newly hatched eggs that were on the girls when they came in. I think it's too late for capstar. I'm going to have to spray the yard, lay d.earth, and front-line. Typically, I use the D.earth in the yard. I'll put it around the back porch, under trees, and in the kennel area. You can also put it in the dog's water. It helps keep internal parasites at bay too. I've never used it inside it's just too messy.

The good thing, too, is that it never goes bad. I have the same 40 pound bag from 2 years ago and plan on using the same bag. Good stuff!

Wow, I had no idea it would last that long. Thanks for the tips!

p.s. It's never too late for CAPSTAR.
They may be small, but you should see their hearts. Shelter/Rescue dogs aren't broken. They've simply experienced more life than other dogs. If they were human we would call them wise. They would be the ones with tales to tell and stories to write. The ones dealt a bad hand who responded with courage. Do not pity a shelter/rescue dog. Adopt one. And be proud to have their greatness on your side. Anon

well, what I meant was that they are already in the yard. Capstar will only kill the ones on them. As soon as they go out, they'll get more right on them.

Yes, you do have to get rid of the ones in the yard or they just keep coming inside. I think I'm going to look for some DE to put on the yard this year. The DH uses a spray that works really well, but I don't like the toxic aspects of that. DE sounds like a much better alternative.

I didn't know it would last that long either. Good to know. Thanks!

OH man, that sucks! put all the dead fleas in a bag and leave them on the breeder lady's porch. Along with poop.
