Hey guys. The only improvement today is that she wagged her tail. She's actually doing a little worse. She's not able to stand for long without toppling over. I still think it's dehydration and anemia. We do have an EVet here, but I wouldn't take an ailing rock there, much less an animal. I'm giving her supportive care and TLC till Monday. She is eating and drinking, so thats a plus.
    Will keep you posted.

I just looked in Dr. Pitcairn's complete guide to Natural Health (awesome book, I highly recommend it to everyone) ....

If her gums are pale, then she most likely does have anemia. I know it is a holiday, but if anything is open, it recommends beef liver, pureed green veggies, kelp powder and high level of vitamin C (500 - 2000 mg) which promotes the absorption of iron from the intestinal tract.

It also recommends after the bath to use lemon skin tonic, which is a whole lemon, thinly sliced added to 1 pint of near-boiling water and let it steep overnight. The next day sponge the solution onto the skin and let it dry.

More rayz for the pretty girl.

Good idea, Lisa. I forget sometimes about Dr. Pitcairn's book. It is awesome and does have some great remedies. I bought mine about 10 or 12 years ago when I first started raw feeding and have kept it as a general resource ever since. I just need to remember to refer to it more often.

I don't know anything about canine medicine, but would some nice red meat help her anemia out like it would with people?

Hope she gets better and isn't pregnant.

She had hamburger mixed with raw egg, pumpkin and DE for dinner tonight. Still not much improvement, but she is at least eating and drinking.

With the condition that she came to you in, she probably hasn't been eating well or at all. The good stuff may be just overloading her system !!! As long as she is eating, drinking and poo and peeing.... that a good thing ! I hope that she now knows she is safe and in good care, and maybe she finally let her defenses down and is just worn out. Sending mega rays - let us know how the things Lisa recommended do for her !
