Oh no!!
:holyshp: So sorry to hear this. Sophie has been through so much.
Sending many positive thoughts and lots of for Sophie.
I hope she's feeling better and back home soon.
They may be small, but you should see their hearts. Shelter/Rescue dogs aren't broken. They've simply experienced more life than other dogs. If they were human we would call them wise. They would be the ones with tales to tell and stories to write. The ones dealt a bad hand who responded with courage. Do not pity a shelter/rescue dog. Adopt one. And be proud to have their greatness on your side. Anon

The vet just called and gave me an update on Sophie. She is no longer shaking (ataxia) and zonked out on her own. They're checking the phosporus levels and are going to call me when the results come in. She is doing better :relieved: I mentioned the raw diet thing to the vet, and he sounded a little shocked "Raw Meat??" and I reply "yes" and I don't think he knew what to do with that info.
Oh wow - what a relief - that is good news...... Now he has something to research tonight :D
Thanks for the update !

It always amazes me that vets haven't heard of raw feeding. Ten or twelve years ago when I was first feeding raw, I mostly didn't tell people that I was feeding raw because they all looked at me like I had 2 heads, but now I thought that most people that were involved with animals (especially vets) had at least heard of it.Originally Posted by Barb

Off painting the house all day - missed this. Sending mega for Sophie! Climate, diet, stress, so much going on with her, yet our dogs are so adaptable. Hard to know what to think.
Andrea - you need an emotional break soon!
