Pogo went down with IVDD and I truly didn't know how I was going to get through the day. I had such a huge range of emotions, fear, anger, guilt (oh, the guilt) but my DLC family helped us so much that day and the days that followed. So I just wanted to say to you all.
I would like to send an extra shout out to Amy who answered my million questions and was both my rock and my tree of knowledge.
A year later and my #1 Sausage is doing great. I still have guilt and fear (that it might happen again), but I am also enjoying every day with Poges as the gift that it is. Well, not so much at 4:30 a.m. when he decides he wants breakfast, but even then, I still wouldn't trade him in.
Here is Pogo this morning. A year after his surgery at the University of Guelph.

After feasting on his kill, the warrior retreats, yet still remains on high alert in case another kibble should emerge.
