Good for you... and don't ever feel bad for saving just one. That is one more dachshund that gets a loving home.

Never, ever feel guilty. Not only did you save Miss Duchie but you support all of us here on the DLC and you send your love and encouragement and your share your incredible wit and humor and terrific ideas. So there.

I'm consistently amazed at how many people think they are doing me some grand favor by telling me about a "breeder" which is only a person haphazardly breeding dogs...or my favorite, being told about a 'great pet store with the CUTEST puppies!!!!!!' :hissy: all because they know how much I love dogs. Then they are shocked because they get an ear full from me.

Hey, you did good. I know that it gains us a rep as crazy doxie ladies when we stand up for them....and all the other poor babies who didn't ask to be put in these situations, but somebody has to. And you did, so to you.

for standing up for what is right. Why did this "broke" woman bring a child AND puppies into the world if she's so broke?

    Mine too.....sniff.....

To you, you may have saved "just one", but to Duchie, you were/are her ONLY savior! I'm explaining this poorly, but you know where I'm going here.....I think you did an awesome job yelling at the lady in the store, and you CONTINUE to do a wonderful job supporting all of us here! You ARE our Rae of Sunshine....and sometimes you have to shine that ray up some people's azzes to make your point !

Rae, your response was perfect. And I totally understand about the guilt that comes with only being able to rescue one. I can't foster and there's no transport needed around here. (fortunately Tonya found me the perfect volunteer job :D) But I still wish I could foster cause I know how greatly its needed.
