Default 13 year old Chewy and 11 year old Princess at the Humane society

Natasha spotted this listing on Sarasota Humane Society. Chewy is a 13 year old dachshund that was turned in because the owner became disabled. Princess is a Chihuahua, came with Chewy and she is 11 years old. Looks quite obese. They have been there since 11/21/09. It says they need to be adopted together.

Can anybody help them? I don't know how bonded they are. I don't think the chance of 2 seniors needing to be adopted together are very good. I could help pulling them and transporting them. Not sure how my two would react to them. Not sure about fostering at this point. My financial situation is not very good right now. I could possibly try a short term.

    Look for Chewy and Princess.

OMG Princess is beyond obese! They look like a perfect pair, I hope someone will consider adopting them ASAP.
They may be small, but you should see their hearts. Shelter/Rescue dogs aren't broken. They've simply experienced more life than other dogs. If they were human we would call them wise. They would be the ones with tales to tell and stories to write. The ones dealt a bad hand who responded with courage. Do not pity a shelter/rescue dog. Adopt one. And be proud to have their greatness on your side. Anon

Here's hoping for an adoption miracle for them! Are there any senior rescues that way?
