O my! No wonder you were worried. I bet it festered under the surface for awhile then sorta exploded into that..didn't you say it was kinda hard first...like a hard spot?
Glad it is healing well now!!!!

Yes, Amy it was kind of hard, but that is such an odd place, and it did not seem to be bothering her, and I did not pay that much attention until it burst.. Owie.

I do remember that one morning when she had :vomit: runny squirty poops ALL IN the pretty pink princess stroller... and it was a couple of days later this sore showed up so I bet it made her sick to her stomach when she got bitten.

How do you know that was from a spider? Just curious...

Western Ky is infested with black widows and brown recluses. Her crate is in the floor of our bedroom and she has multiple blankies in there at all times.

Dr. Chuck looked at the spot (the pics were after he had cleaned off the dead tissue and shaved the fur around it to prevent infection) and that was his best diagnosis. He didn't say what else would cause necrotic flesh... But it was just an educated guess. He said if it had been a tumor that caused the rupture, he would have been able to see the tumor or the remainder of one. And there was no evidence of a cyst or anything.

And there was some dead tissue he had to :vomit: remove...

Now that is scary, I had NO idea spiders were such a problem in KY.
