Default North FL Doxie Days/Wiener Races

First annual North FL Doxie Days in affiliation with the Ohio National Wiener Races, March 20 & 21 at the St Johns County Fairgrounds in Elkton (St. Augustine) FL. The 20th is race day and the 21st will be the costume contests etc. I'm planning to attend as a vendor and FLDR rep. So far they have over 100 weenies registered to race and are anticipating between 300 - 600. Proceeds will benefit the St. Augustine Humane Society and St. Johns 4-H. Should be fun!

    YAY!
I plan to attend with my two.
    I'll try to find you.
    It'll be a DLC mini meet-up.

Gosh I wish I could go! I see the words "costume contest"
I guess 1000 miles is a bit too far to drive though :(

Hmmm. It's a little over 200 miles for me. Cassie might enjoy it but I know Angel would not like it so much - however, she would also not like being left at home.

    Hmmmmmmmmm.

It'll be awesome if I can actually meet some of the DLC gang. I'll be there on the 20th. It's about a 2 hr drive for me so I can only make 1 day. Vinnie will be coming with me because he's the only one of my 5 weens who likes car rides. I'll definitely try to take lots of pics.

Everyone might have heard this already but the National Doxie Race chapter is no longer going to be present at the North Florida event this weekend. I have heard a couple of conflicting stories but the main issue seemed to be funding - the local organizers can no longer afford to pay the expenses of the National reps.

The email that was sent out seemed to indicate that without their participation, doxies would be at risk if they raced because the local organizers do not have the experience needed to maintain the safety of the doxies. The local rep sent an email to everyone participating today that if you get there and do not feel it is safe, then you can obtain a refund.

Does anyone know anything else about this? I am concerned because I had signed up for the event this weekend. I do not want to risk injury to Chloe though so I am worried.

Go have fund and enjoy your self. Things will be fine. I suspect there is more to the story.

We have weinner races at my event in VA and never had and issuses or problems.
