Default Meet Gus our new rescue adoptee

This is Gus! He is our newest rescue and we will keep him. Long story on how he came to us but we fell in love with him. He is a LH and about 10 to 12 weeks old. Ilsa is not thrilled with him but has let him lay near her as long as he doesn't nip or nibble on her.

Oh my, he is adorable! I just placed a dachshund puppy into a new home awhile back that had that SAME face. Except she had a lot more white on her. And I agree, I'd love to hear his story!

I will condense it for youonly becasue I have an appt to get ready for LOL The initial contact was by a dispatcher to us who knows we have dachsies asking if we lost one. I told her no and she told me someone called about finding one and where. They asked if they could bring it in. Hours went by and finally they did.

In a nutshell the little guy was "found" near a busy intersection "wandering" around and then brought into our local police dept. He was absolutely pristeen clean and showed no signs of stress from having been out in rainy weather. He was so little and the animal control officer was concerned about him. She knows we do Dachshund rescue and asked if he could stay with us. Of course we said yes! So he came to us and we have been caring for him and waiting to hear if his owners were looking for him. He has no chip and had no collar. We all feel he was abandoned there by his actual owners. Hard telling why they did that but we are very glad they did. So he is being a lovable, stubborn, funny and thoroughly charming Dachshund addition to our home!!!

:awww: Gus is ADORABLE!! :hearts::fh: :hearts:
They may be small, but you should see their hearts. Shelter/Rescue dogs aren't broken. They've simply experienced more life than other dogs. If they were human we would call them wise. They would be the ones with tales to tell and stories to write. The ones dealt a bad hand who responded with courage. Do not pity a shelter/rescue dog. Adopt one. And be proud to have their greatness on your side. Anon
