Trixie woke up this morning not wanting to walk or go downstairs. When I let her out, she wouldn't go down the steps, so I carried her and put her in the grass. She wouldn't move and then she lifted up her right front paw. I picked her up and examined her paw and when I touched the area, she yelped. So now, she has an appointment with the vet for this afternoon.

The vet said that Trixie has arthritis in either her shoulder or her elbow. For the next week, I give her pain and anti-inflammatory meds, and I have to keep her on a leash when I take her outside. She absolutely cannot go up and down stairs.
Before I took Trixie to the vet, she was limping, but when I got her to the vet, she was no longer limping.
When I touched her at home, she yelped, but when the vet touched her, she was very stoic. But, she did start trembling, which she never does at the vet office. (She thinks the vet is a great friend).
Trixie enjoyed making friends with the vet office cat, who is a real sweetheart. The vet found him on the side of the freeway, and nursed him back to health.
