It is because there are so many black dogs. Black the dominate gene and when you have 20 black dogs and the other colors stick out more in the room so they tend to get adopted first. Another reason black dogs get over looked is because sometimes their eyes are hard to see so that makes them appear mean. :(

These are such cute pictures . I have never had a black dog.
I have a dog with heavy black overlay and mostly black ears, and I think that black fur is soooo pretty and shiny. But I don't think she qualifies for this thread :(
