Very Nice Poem. I came across a very touching story on the home page of Southern States Dachshund Rescue the other day. It's in the center column, below 'Our Mission'.

Saving just one dog won't change the world...but surely the world will change for that one dog.

Hi AnnMarie,

How wonderfully you expressed all the really important reasons to adopt. I have just adopted two more weiners and although it's my first time to adopt ,I have to say it has been one of the most fulfilling things i've ever done. These two new weiners just lick me & lick me & look up into my eyes with complete adoration....what on earth feels so good?
Am sending your poem to my daughter & her partner as they are complete dog-addicts (my daughter manages a doggie day-care/obedience school in Los Angeles) & I know they'll probably frame this!
