My sister just called me. Dad crossed about 2 hours ago. He was rushed to emerg last night, went into a coma about midnight, and that was that. I'm trying to make arrangements to get the dogs sorted and will be flying out later today or first thing tomorrow. I never got a chance to say goodbye. Godspeed, Dad. You're back with mom now...no doubt have a good ol' "discussion" about the years since she left.

I know you said he didn't have much "will to live" left, but there is no way we're ever ready to lose a loved one.
I'm sorry you were not able to be there... you are a wonderful person, a great daughter, and he was lucky to have you.

I'm sorry you didn't get to say goodbye, but it was easier for him this way...not prolonged and miserable. His body was done, and I think he knew that.
