Intestinal probs for dogs with disc probs??...info please!

A friend of ours has a dachsie that had disc problems that just started to happen in the last while. She has been taking her for therapy, and I also gave her the links to dodger's list and all the other links that were posted at the top of this forum. She can walk, but occasionally freezes up or goes down in the back.

My husband told me that something unusual is happening with her. I expected him to say her mom was looking into a cart or she was losing control of her bladder, but he says - and i forget the word - but its almost like her insides are coming out. Her rear end has opened up a little bit and its like her intestines are dropping.

I have not seen the pup lately to tell you first hand, but never heard of this happen before.

She will take her to the vets of course, but does anyone have any idea what could be happening for my own dacshie knowledge or to pass on to her? This has all just happened "all the sudden".
