Default Dachshund nature: perseveres in adverse conditions

Hubby tried to throw the dogs off by hiding the ball in a stinky sneaker but Beau dives in and perseveres under adverse conditions. Runner is unwilling to release it's prize but Beau is a stubborn boy and wins the stand off.

I think he's pretty cute showing off how clever he is, a double prize. He's got some neck muscles to keep that shoe off the ground.

Thanks Lisa! It helps that they are ball hounds. They don't get any yard time all winter so it's an effort to burn energy.

Love him walking around with that shoe.

Funny thing tonight I tossed Jackson's ball and it landed in my shoe. He looked at it like what the heck?? But he was able to tip the shoe over and dug it out within seconds.
