Default Please! Send healing for Nixie

Nixie wasn't feeling well since last night, so we took her to a speciality hospital today. They have 40 doctors and their own lab there. She had complete blood workup, a CBC and blood chemestries. Everything was normal except for her platelet count, which was very low. The doctor said she has Immune Mediated Thrombocytopenia. They are treating her with steroids and will keep her for 48 hours. I cried all the way home. She is only 2 1/2 years old and the most loving Doxie I have ever had. She has been my constant, loving companion since I broke me leg and suffered blood clots in the lungs. This is just too much! Have anyone of you had this happen with your Doxie? Please send prayers and healing. We are going back to visit Nixie now. Thanks for any help.

I'm so sorry!! I don't know a lot about it but have known two dogs that had it. A friend's corgi has it and she did well after steroid treatment. I do know that it is important to test for Ehrlichiosis and Rocky Mountain Spotted fever (from ticks).

Sending rayz for your baby girl . I hope everything turns out okay. It looks like many dogs do very well with steroids, and sometimes one treatment is all that is required .

We went to see Nixie tonight. She's in ICU. She was so happy to see us with plenty of kisses and her little tail wagging. They have a IV on her for hydration and started steroids. I used to be a medical technician, so I asked for her blood test results. Her platelets are 45. Normal range should be 200 to 500. Would you all join in and focus on the number 300 for her? I believe in visualization, especially if many of us will do it. Needless to say, I am a total wreck with worry. One doctor there said she could bleed to death. However, the other doctor was more compassionate and said that steriods are successful in preventing that.
Thanks to all of you for the healing and prayers. I will send an update tomorrow.
