Although I haven't heard of vets recommending it lately, swimming did wonders for Bandit and Amanda. It got their back legs moving and the built up their muscles. I hope it's as effective for Sam.

Yipee! Sam's legs are working again! He can walk. That is superb! The little one is trying hard, and is indeed healing. I'm so happy.

when Duchie had her troubles, Doc Chuck told me to put her in water just deep enough to come to her shoulders (which is not a lot!) and use my hand to swirl the water and keep her a little off balance. the water was warm which felt good to her and it was high enough that her buoyancy took the weight off her back and legs but she still felt compelled to try to balance.

dunno - of course I DO NOT have DVM after my name, but worth checking on.
