Yes to the sling walking. Keep the sling under him for a couple of weeks yet.

You can gradually loosen it, so it is under him, but not actually supporting him, but there if he starts to slip.

I posted a sticky on the fine art of holding a sling and collar while pottying

p.s. Buddy looks wonderful. He is doing so well. It makes my heart happy. I can't believe it is only 3 weeks and he is already doing that great.

This is a very old thread, but here's its (missing) conclusion:

Buddy's physical therapy continued here: http://doxielovers.com/dlc/showthread.php?t=34489

With walking like a drunken sailor after 6 weeks: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3O43c_iIec
and underwater treadmill video at 8 weeks: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ISBtoBNS6hU
and running 4 months later: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sgMoO6BSFjc

Months later, he's back to normal, except his rear legs are no longer exactly vertical, so they cross over sometimes, but he doesn't care. He can walk or run just as fast as ever!
