    Default Wonderful keepsake

A friend of mine recently lost her 18 yr old red doxie. The vet was so kind, he had taken a footprint in clay and gave that to her with the ashes.

Makes me want to take a footprint while they are still lively and kissable.

What a beautiful and thoughtful gesture. That vet 'gets it'!

We got a paw print when we received Dumbledore's ashes. Earlier though we did buy a paw print and picture frame kit. It comes with some putty and a picture frame. After Dumbledore started getting sick, we took his paw print and Draco's paw print together on the same piece of putty, and put a picture of the two sitting together in the picture frame.

That was very thoughtful of the vet.

I have thought about doing the paw prints, but then I think of the chaos that is most likely to occur if I tried.

    What a wonderful gift.

When my heart dog childhood pet Star a GSD mix passed in 2006 our vet gave us her paw print in clay and the clay was shaped into a heart. I still have to frame it. Maybe I will this weekend now that this reminded me. We have a pet cemetery here and that’s where she had to be cremated.

Um, yeah. Big time chaos would occur here.

    Very thoughtful of the vet.
