So....Salsa is going for a big title..biggest one in CPE agility; the C-ATE, which is 5000 points in Level C (which means perfect runs, no faults allowed) at 15-25 points per qualifying run, it's really quite an endeaver. There are 6 games and Standard in CPE and you need at least 20 qualifying runs in each of those, then enough points to make 5,000. We've had our 20 runs in each for quite some time...have 30 or more in most so we are running for points.
Went into the weekend with 4760 points. Now we need......
(DRUMROLL PLEASE!!)
35.
Yes. 35 more points. Salsa had a perfect weekend. 10 runs, 10 Q's, 10 firsts. The firsts being a bit misleading because there never are any other level C regular 4 inch dogs. There's another level C 4 incher (corgi) but she is running as a specialist so doesn't compete with Salsa. But still.
NEVER expected to get that many points in a weekend!! Which led to another problem..I entered a trial on good friday just to make sure I had enough points to FINISH the c-ate at our first trial at the facility where I work... so now what do I do??? Don't want to finish at the next trial cuz my friends won't be able to be there... Luckily, the trial secretary is my friend and will let me switch things around a bit whew!
Bad news is Owen is still not right. He will be resting for a few months and then we'll see. People watching him try to run last friday said it looks like he can't see...he wants to do it but is jumping funny. it's ok...he doesn't need to do aglity and he doesn't seem upset when he can't..not yet. So we'll give it 8-12 weeks and see where he is. maybe his neck is still bothering him...
Laika rocked, although I messed up two of her runs friday. weird. Don't know where my head was at.
BUT I think I made up for it Saturday I ran 14 runs with 5 different dogs (One doxie, 2 chi's, 1 corgi and 1 Laekenois), qualified ALL of them, and got first in all of them too!! What a rush that was
And you might notice that says TWO chi's. Yes, Segue made his debut run. he was quite awesome. Super easy (level 1 CPE is like pre-novice agility) but he was fast and stayed with me and best of all, let me pick him up at the end. I was sooo afraid he would run out of the ring or start playing you can't catch me, momma. But we had been practicing and he came right to me. I was so happy. haven't been that happy for a while. I will post the video. he had 41 seconds (standard course time) and he ran it in 13.71. granted, 41 seconds for that course is silly but still...he was the fastest dog of ANY SIZE in level one AND level 2
Then, on Sunday, went to USDAA agility to run Pat's dog Ness and Sue's dog Toots (minpin) We did quite well. Toots got three q' and finished two titles, Ness got two Q's and finished one title.
I coud hardly walk Monday. As soon as we get the c-ate, I am going to the dr and get a referral to an orthopedic dr and get these freaking knees fixed up.
The end
