Default Ok. Finally somewhat able to post.

About a month ago, Duchie had what we believe to be another stroke. She has been unable to walk more than a few steps since then.
She's been on prednisone since April 4 - it seemed to help some at first but as we tapered off, not so much. We have increased her dosage back up effective yesterday... What do we have to lose?
She can't walk at all now and falls over while standing to eat. She has lost some weight but is still eating, peering and pooping.
She does still have some strength - if I stimulate her back legs by pushing on her feet, she can and does push back with some force.
For everyone who has said "you'll know," I'm starting to get it.
In order to exhaust all possible means of helping my girl, we are going to see Dr Davis on Wednesday re: acupuncture and I'm hoping beyond all hope it will help her regain the ability to stand and walk just a little.
She seems depressed, and we have had The Talk about going on her own terms and chasing a bunny over the Rainbow Bridge in her sleep...
Thanks to those of you who have been counseling me and helping me cope behind the scenes... For someone as open as I am, I've kept the severity of her health issues to myself more than I thought I would... I guess if I don't talk about it, it must not be happening.
I'm seeing her decline before my very eyes, and the bad days are starting to be even with the good days...
I hope she's a good candidate for acu and that it will give her some dignity back. If not, well... Support Team get ready because I'm going to need you.
Thanks to everyone for the kind words, advice, and tears shed on our behalf. It's going to be horrendous, but I love her enough not to let her suffer. We are not there just yet, as the tail still wags a bit, but close.
I hope the acu helps. She does not appear to be in pain, but she's getting more lethargic and, as I said, depressed.
    Thanks fir "listening."

I know right where you are. It's a very hard place. HRH has had a very good long life (longer than I would have thought with her rough start pre-Rae). She knows she's loved and you will do your best for her.

I've been in your shoes... it's not easy. I am here for you... I love you both. You are so awesome, you will do exactly what "Her Highness" needs. I pray that the acupuncture works and gives y'all more time.
