I hardly check Facebook and I read what Sandi posted. I am literally in tears for you. The mold was truly broken when Duchie was made. I remember the first time quite a few years ago now when I read the story of the day you found her and she was truly lucky and blessed - you both were - for her to have even been discovered. thank you for giving her a great life.

RIP sweet Duchess. I can't imagine your heartbreak, Rae.

She was lucky to have found you and you were lucky to have her in your life. I wish they could all stay with us longer.

I'm so sorry. HRH was a very good girl and even though she had a rough life before finding you she knew true and loyal love leaving many pawprints on your heart.

I truly am sorry to hear of Duchie's passing. You both were so lucky to have found each other. I've lit a candle for her journey to the bridge. I know she's running pain free and has many friends to greet her. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers at this very difficult time. Many

They may be small, but you should see their hearts. Shelter/Rescue dogs aren't broken. They've simply experienced more life than other dogs. If they were human we would call them wise. They would be the ones with tales to tell and stories to write. The ones dealt a bad hand who responded with courage. Do not pity a shelter/rescue dog. Adopt one. And be proud to have their greatness on your side. Anon

I am so very sorry Rae.
Like many others, my heart breaks for you.

She was exceptional and your relationship continues to be inspirational.

No dog could have ever been loved more by so many!! (who never even met her).

She is kicking up her heels now with all the DLC doxies. Nathan will show her the joy of chasing butterflies.

I did not want to see this thread this morning. Rae, all my deepest sympathy on your loss of Duchie. I know your heart must be very heavy now but you gave her a wonderful life, full of love and happiness. You were both blessed by each other's love.
