Russia offers the Domestic Fox

The experiment that began in Siberia, 1959, has bred foxes that are so far removed from wild foxes, and are so tame that they can become household pets. Kinda pricey ($9K) but very cute.

We watched a documentary on this years ago. They bred wild foxes, and chose only the most gentle ones from each litter to breed further. After just a few generations, the gene that causes gentleness also causes color variations. This experiment still continues here.

Very interesting. On Japan you can have a fox for a pet. When Cami was volunteering in a shelter there she was wishing she could have adopted a senior silver fox.

Very interesting. They can have Pet foxes in Japan. Cami was volunteering at a rescue last year and really fell in love with a senior silver fox.

I did this twice. Tapatalk told me it didn't go thro. Yes. they are beautiful creatures and apparently not bad pets.At least in Japan.
