1st challenge of the season
Beau had his spring tune up at the vet today and I decided to not use the harness but just a collar and leash. I know when it comes to correcting behavior, he can feel the leash on the collar better when I go chttt! There was a big female mastiff roaming around the clinic today and Beau wanted to bark his head off, of course. She was a very calm dog and someone came and took her to the back. She just wandered out again, and Beau barked again. They were taking her back but I decided to say No, let her come by this way. Beau needs practice. lol He was on my lap so I could easily correct him with a poke with my finger and chttt! Doesn't that sweet girl stand right in front of me, giving me her back, and lies down, right in front of me!! O gosh, she read my mind! Her back was 1 inch from my feet, and she was huge!
So Beau calmed down and I put him on the floor. Beau had a sniff sniff and sat down. Very nice. I was grinning. lol Nothing like a big dog that's calm to help train Mr. Big Guns. I should bring Georgia for a visit to see her next. lol I wonder if she takes appointments.
