    Default Lexie

She took her last trip to the vet today - we just couldn't watch her struggle any more. Even the vet agreed with me that it was time. Why don't I feel good about that? I know I made a good decision, but it's still so hard. I will so miss my soft, sweet furgirl, even though the past few months were tough. I'd give anything if I could walk her down the street again. Please grieve with me over my sweet Lexie. I know she's in a better place, but somehow that just doesn't help.

No matter how right it is, Suzanne, it never ever feels right. Grieving right along with you, and sending you a ton of . Godspeed, sweet sweet girl. Not gone, just gone ahead.

This isn't the first time I've had to lose a dog this way - you'd think it would get easier after a while, but somehow, this is harder. I think I bonded with these two guys I adopted a lot more than I bonded with my previous doxies. This really hurts. And tomorrow Jack goes to a specialist to maybe get his oronasal fistula repaired. Ugh! Not my best week.

Oh Suzanne I am so sorry. Watching a beloved fur baby decline is so terribly hard. And to be perfectly blunt, knowing that you are doing the right thing, the merciful thing, and the final kind thing you can do for your girl does not make it suck any less.

I am so, so sorry. Having a super-special companion like Lexie was (and like Duchie was) is a rare gift and I'm glad you had it. A big Kentucky hug for your broken heart!

I am so sorry... sometimes doing the right thing for our sweet babies just doesn't feel right in our hearts, but your head know you did the loving thing for her.
