Default I, Savannah Jane, am doing a half marathon.

Ok not really but mommy and Miss Lisa walked five miles this morning and i went the whole too! And I fink they are going to do another five this afternoon. I'm gonna go then, too.

This morning I saw my buddy Mr Ronnie. He owns da bait and tackle store that's on the route mommy walks, and he lets mommy and miss Lisa use his potty if they need to. He rubs my belly. I love him.

Everybody looks at me and tells me how cute I am when we walk, but I have a liddle problem. Miss April made Duchie (she wuz Mommy's baby before me) a harness and I has to wear it on walkies. It has penguins on it, which is bery cute, but it is BLUE.

Princesses do NOT wear the BLUE. Princesses wear the PINK... Or mebbe the lavender or even yellow. I think mommy needs to get another one dat is more princessy.

Aw, Miss Savannah, princesses can be princess-y in any color.

(But it would be fun to get a new harness!)

My Princess (Rikka) wore Royal Purple. Not only was she a bit imperious/bossy, but it looked wonderful against her copper penny colored fur.

Ok for those of you who have young healthy dogs, how much do you normally walk them? In cool weather, like we had this morning, Savannah hadn't even slowed down at the 5 mile mark.
Earlier in the week it was hot, and I carried her from 3.5 miles to the 4 mark and put her in the truck (with the a/c on and a big bowl of fresh water of course) while Lisa and I knocked out our last mile.
I just don't want to overdo it for her.

5 miles is a lot of miles for those little legs. I wouldn't be worried about her heart and lungs, but I would be about her muscles. For what it's worth, I'd leave her home this aft. Of course, it's been over 20 years since there was a young dog in this house, so maybe I'm right out to lunch .

Paula, I've been wondering about the translation factor. 1 human year is 7 dog years... What's the multiplier for miles when your legs are only 4 inches long??

She def won't go this afternoon. Too much! May be too much for her old mom, too!

Yo I'm thinking pink. I bet April has some fabric with tiaras on it...
