I just made some homemade dog treats for my miniature weenie dog "Fritz". He really loves them. They were only 4 ingredients and very easy to make.
Ingredients:
•2 cups whole wheat flour (you can use another type of flour if your dog is sensitive to wheat)
•1 cup rolled oats>
•1/3 cup peanut butter, chunky or smooth
•1 1/4 cups hot water
Be sure to have extra flour for rolling the dough.
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees
Mix dry ingredients together
Mix in peanut butter and hot water.
If the dough is to sticky you can add more flour
Knead the dough
Roll out the dough to 1/4 thickness then use a cookie cutter to cut into shapes. Unfortunatley I was unable to locate my cookie cutters because we just moved. So I rolled the dough into balls and made hash marks with a fork.
Bake them on a lightly greased cookie sheet for 40 minutes.
The shelf life is one week in an airtight container. Refrigerator 3 weeks or freezer for up to six months. Once the cookies are cooled and hardened your little companion can finally enjoy them.
