Ivan, many many for Susie and I hope she pulls though.

Holly is a stinker and a fighter and she will be fine.

Sending a ton more your way, Ivan. Cat illnesses are scarier than dog illnesses sometimes, I think cuz they wait so long to show you something's wrong, and so you lose that lead time for treatment. (Unlike certain drama queen/king dachsie s who shall remain nameless! Thinking of you guys, and waiting to hear an update on Suzy (good to know more or less what's going on with Holly...fixable!)

Good news: Suzy has started eating on her own! Yipee. Not much (a tsp), but it's a start. We're gonna let her eat w/o force-feeding, today.
Holly's sore leg is back on the ground, but not with any weight. She's still hobbling on 3, but it seems patience & Rimadyl are slowly working. So are the rayz!

Good news on both counts. It's scary when cats decide not to eat and then have to force fed until they start up on their own again. Once they stop they very seldom start again without being made to eat which I find very strange.

Today they're both doing better. Yay!

Suzy drank water and ate a whole tablespoon of canned food and some grass, on her own, but we're still force-feeding her the rest of her usual daily allotment. She's not hiding under the bed as much either. Her curiosity for following us around the kitchen has resumed.

Holly is walking around almost normally now, stepping softly on it, with what appears to be an almost normal gait. She has her usual full enthusiasm for her meaty dinner & snacks. We cut off her Rimadyl yesterday, cuz we don't want her to go into kidney failure again, which is a possible side-effect of that drug. Still no clues what happened to Holly.
