Default My Dry Pond - Not

Normally I have a dry pond (it has a drain). Years ago someone wanted a fish pond. It has a drain that goes under the mud wall, and my neighbors driveway to the local pond. Not so today the water is backed up to my fence. So I have to watch the yard for snakes before letting the critters out. Not fun at all.

Here is the river going through my yard to the fence and the pond. Yes the dry pond and woods are mine. I left it as a sound barrier and for the wildlife. This is only the second time since 1999 the pond has came up to fence. The last time was Hurricane Isabella.

Wow, Yo. That's beautiful! I don't blame you for leaving it.

I hope that the pond dries out before the melt starts and causes more problems

Very nice woods & pond. I guess all this snow melting is raising the water table? Sure looks pretty. Hmm, don't snakes hibernate (brumate) in winter? I hope so.

Very nice pond and woods. Great for doxies!
Hopefully the extra moisture will lessen the fire hazard in the summer.
