I saw that on FB. Cloning because you want your animal to never leave is just plain stupid. They may be genetically and physically identical, but the personalities aren't. As if we don't have enough dogs looking for homes out there . A dachsie owner should know better!

Disturbing, isn't it? But then it also bothers me when people get a new dog and give it the same name as one they lost . I agree that much of a dog's personality - and how it relates to its humans - is shaped by its interactions and experiences.

What happens to the poor cloned dog when it doesn't act exactly like its predecessor? Will they ignore it or reject it? I feel so bad.
Wow! I just read this. I have to say I am sick to my stomach. What a terrible thing to do. What happens if the new Winnie doesn't measure up? What if she outshines the original? Dogs should not be looked at like a pair of your favorite brand of jeans where you can buy 2 of the same cut.

Lots of prayers for Mini Winnie. As much as we hate the loss of our canine family its part of the package called loving something. There is a shelter dog out there praying for a home and we need to make dogs in petri dishes.Oye.
