    Default Petmate tagnabbit

Has anyone used this? Elliott Wiener Lucero is sooooo handsome that we like to change collars and bow ties as often as I wish my son would brush his teeth. Anyway this device attaches to his name tag so I can quick release and attach to a collar without having to deal with that pesky little ring that always busts up me nails. I have read some bad reviews and I am hoping it will actually be worth a crap.

That is an awesome bow-tie! I have never heard of tagnabbit. But it looks cool.

We used Tagnabbit clips for the last few years. They're merely OK, but not very good. Their clasp is too flimsy. They have a fatal flaw: spring-loaded clasp shifts outta place, and then clasp stays open. Far too often. IOW, dog tags fall off. http://www.amazon.com/PETMATE-290980.../dp/B004EQ62V2

We used Nite-Ize clips, but they were even more notorious for falling off when the dogs rolled around on the ground. Also, my car keys also fell off my cheychain while in my own pockets (many times). http://www.amazon.com/Nite-Ize-SBP0-.../dp/B002MD01KC

We didn't try newer lockable Nite-Ize clips, but I'm skeptical whether it'll hold when dogs roll around: http://www.amazon.com/Nite-Ize-LSBM-.../dp/B00BKVPTVS

Last weekend we bought new Rubit! clips. ( http://rubitclip.com/store/ ) They seem better made. The clip part does, anyway. But amazon reviews say the split-ring portion is too flimsy, so I'll swap a stronger (springier) ring on it, to prevent tag loss. http://www.amazon.com/Rubit-Switch-M.../dp/B005ST8528

I've given up on tags. They are way too easy to lose. I have mine microchipped and have collars embroidered with their names and my phone number. I'm hoping that even if they lose their tags, they will still have their collars on and can get home. I've found several loose dogs with collars on but missing tags. And from the other side, I've found a lot of tags laying in the street with no dog in sight.

After finding that cute little dogs at Buda, I have again realized how important it is to have a phone number on your dog. Who knows what might have happened to Cooper if I hadn't been able to call when I found him.

Just an update on this product. It came off multiple times. This last time I latched both sides to his collar and it is staying on. It won't be east to remove but it is on there. Doesn't meet the purpose that I bought it for but ....

    On a related note....

The Rubit! clips are working splendidly. It's a snug clip that never falls off. So happy. No issues, at all. Holly has a pink one. Buddy's is black.
