    Wow, that is scary! I hadn't heard of that yet. It appears that dogs who are outside or in areas the bugs can get to them at night are most vulnerable (which of course leaves the Houston crew bed hogs pretty safe) but you never know. I'll be sending this to my vet to look at. Thanks!

    BTW, Texas A&M has a wonderful vet school and if they are concerned about it, it's probably a real concern.

    Yikes! Suddenly I don't wanna take the pups to TX. Chagas disease seems more scary than Lyme disease.
