    Default Rusty's 1st Acupuncture Visit.

Rusty's 1st visit went great! We went yesterday. He's a good boy but doesn't sit still so I had to hold him during acupuncture hoping I didn't get poked myself LOL! We did that for about 20-30 minutes. He eventually got relaxed and yawned a lot. We learned some new at home exercises using a pillow. His appointment ended with 3 shots of B12 in his back. We go back Saturday for his Rehab & Hydrotherapy at 4pm (it needed to be broken up not done all in one day) at noon Saturday we go for his 4 week check up with his neurologist as well. I am quite happy how everything is going. I cant believe how freaked out I was when he went down, as anyone would. and I feel very lucky that this new placed opened up in walking distance. Nothing but great things to say so far and that she does a lot of holistic and herbal treatments as well.

    Rusty during Acupuncture.

This mornings pillow exercise. This makes him use his back legs to support himself over the pillow. We went up and over a few times. Most just up on with his front legs to stand on his back

Then we learned that all the dogs should take daily, fish oil and glucosamine. And that once a week they all should eat 1 boiled egg and the shell, crushed. This will help protect them I suppose.

Wow, great progress. He sure has lotsa patience when you hold him like that. I guess he trusts you. He looks like a mad scientist experiment. The pillow exercise is clever, and I guess it teaches him to raise his back legs higher? Our boy hasn't relearned that, so he walks weird. Rusty's spinal scar looks nice.

We do feed fish oil daily (for Omega 3), but it's tough to find w/o the unwanted Soy, Vit.E, and Rosemary, except at Walgreens. We feed a raw egg (not cooked) and crush the shells with a mortar & pestle, then sprinkle it on raw meat. They eat it heartily. That's the easiest way our cat gets her required bones content.

How cool! I like the pillow exercise.

I used to feed some salmon oil liquid that I got where I buy my raw bones. It was great stuff just stinky. Of course, the dogs loved it. Probably because it WAS stinky.

Go Rusty! I give sardines to Jack often. Smelly but good for him. I like them myself! More recovery for Rusty!,

That's nice of you to post photos so we can see what's been going on with Rusty.
Did you manage to take the acupuncture photo or did someone help you out there? It's a darn good photo if it was you, with all the needles threatening you. lol
