    Default DREAM Senior Sanctuary

DREAM Rescue has started a program the I think is awesome. Here's the explanation from the website.

"Many of our senior Dachshunds aren't as easy to adopt out due to their age and/or chronic illness. They are, however, every bit as lovable as our younger, adoptable dogs, and they truly deserve to live out their lives in loving homes. Our Senior Sanctuary Program allows you to foster a senior dog without the worry of incurring any medical expenses. All you provide is food, shelter and love, while enjoying all the benefits that come with having a loving companion by your side. We'd love the opportunity to tell you more about the benefits of this program."

I was telling the DH about it the other night and I think that when we are ready to adopt another dog, we'll probably do this. What a great idea.

Good thing that isn't here, cuz the only thing stopping me from having a dozen old ones is the vet bills . ElderDog kinda does the same thing, depending on the adopter's circumstances and what special needs the dog has (e.g., diabetes...we'll pay for the insulin. Who knew it was so expensive??? )

I know. With our 2 seniors we spend a lot on vet bills.

Wonderful idea! Can you put this up as a sticky? Spread the word! Centers should be all over America, Canada and Europe.
