My cats (fluffy Persians) have all fallen in and, believe it or not, they swim very well and have gone straight to the stairs. We did watch instead of scooping them out just to see what they would do. Each has only gone in once (lesson learned?) but the ramp will be for them too.

Yes, he does know how to swim but we are working with him little by little while we are in the pool to make him a stronger swimmer and to know how to get out. Luckily the top step is shallow, so as long as he gets there he would be safe. We will probably get the pool ramp just so he has 2 exits instead of 1.

GREAT article! I will find one of these and order ASAP. I started construction on my pool today. Only my labs are outside unsupervised at any time but I am sure it would make life easier and safer for all. Thanks for sharing.
