    Default Scat mat

Has anyone used a Scat mat to keep the fur kids off the couch? I was on amazon and saw a Scat mat and a scram mat not to mention a few others. If I am going to buy this I want to get the one that works the best. I am trying to keep Nero off the couch........I think she jusmps down when the car pulls up.

We used the scat mats to keep the neighbor's cat off my husband's truck and they seemed to work really well for that.

Nah, we lost & gave up on that battle long ago.

Nowadays, we pull 1 cushion from each sofa down onto the floor so they can climb up in easy steps. They all LOVE the sofa. Jebbie would often spend his entire day up there, maybe cuz it was forbidden by his prior family. Earlier we had a Borzoi named Lola who obviously snuck onto the forbidden sofa when nobody was home, but was more clever when we were at home. So Lola was given her very OWN sofa, but she preferred the bigger sofa that we used. We even tried mousetraps (but springs were loosened) for the cats who clawed the sofa, years ago, but even that failed. Good luck with your battle.

Thanx Patrice and Ivan. Since we just got a new carpet it was decided(my vote lost)that Nero should not sit on the couch. Despite the Furminator pitbulls have hair that just will not say goodby when it gets on the couch. I will give the scat mat a try. The Princess will not be happy.

I understand that. I used to have a velvet couch in the living room and it was next to impossible to get the hair off of it. I have a leather couch in the den which is ideal and my mother's old couch in the living room now. It's a firmer weave fabric that is easier to get the hair off, but will definitely be replaced by a leather couch when it wear out.

Blankets on couches are the rule around here . Blankies wash, couch stays clean...everyone happy!

My brother in law has a leather couch and I really think it would be ideal. I always had blankets on the couch and she loved to curl up on them but the couch nazis are telling me No Dog On The Couch.....She is doing very well going to her bed next to the couch but she likes to sit on the arm of the couch and watch out the picture window. You never know when squirrels could attack.
