Default What should I feed her?

So Gigi was on kibble for breakfast and medallion for dinner before she was sick 2 weeks ago. And since then she is on ID canned food (prescription). The vet said she can be on it forever if I want to. Because Miss Gigi has sensative tummy. So should I just let her be on it? Or should I switch back? She seems to like her canned food, so I don't know what I want to do about it.

If she likes her food and is not having any problems, why switch? If you're happy with what's working for you I wouldn't make any changes and risk upsetting her tummy again.

I agree with Lisa. If she's doing well with it and likes it I would stay with it. Woudn't want her tummy to get all icky again.

Alex has been on i/d for the last 4 years, since her cancer op, and is thriving on it. So if it works and her tummy is better, maybe best to let sleeping tummies lie?

Default here's the link with info and ingredients

    science diet i/d

I agree; why not leave her on it for a while, especially if she likes it. If you decide you want something that has different ingredients in the future, you can always mix it in slowly.

If you want to try something different, but also simple, you might try canned Natural Balance Potato and Duck, Fish and Sweet Potato, or Venison and Brown Rice.

There's also California Natural's formulas, and Canidae's new chicken and rice formula. Wellness makes Simple Solutions kibbles, too.

If Gigi is doing well with her present diet, I wouldn't change a thing unless your vet gives you the okay. You could try the kibbled I/D she might like that too. RAW diets are not for every dog, what works for one doesn't work for another.
They may be small, but you should see their hearts. Shelter/Rescue dogs aren't broken. They've simply experienced more life than other dogs. If they were human we would call them wise. They would be the ones with tales to tell and stories to write. The ones dealt a bad hand who responded with courage. Do not pity a shelter/rescue dog. Adopt one. And be proud to have their greatness on your side. Anon
