Don't worry about it. He went last night. Things are moving thru so just let it be. I have doggie doors and honestly don't know when my dogs poop unless I happen to see them do it. As long as things are moving thru, I don't worry about when it happens. It will.

I'm not too concerned about blockages or something like that. It's more about the fact that if he refuses to poop when I take him out, he ends up pooping in his crate about 99% of the time. Then he barks all night until I get home from work. Not only does this result in a mess I have to clean up, a stressed out dog and a grumpy me BUT it has also already resulted in a noise complaint. We just moved here a month ago. So it stresses me out when he won't go and yet I can tell he needs to. But, I only have an hour for lunch and if he hasn't gone by the time my lunch break is over, I have no choice but to leave. I can't leave him out of his crate because he is the most destructive critter I have ever been owned by! He loves to chew blankets LOL.

We've been here a month and I know he is still adjusted. Even when he doesn't have an accident in his crate, he is prone to barking when I am gone. Because of the noise complaint he is back on Rescue Remedy Pet AND I have to put batteries back in the bark control thing. I hate doing that. Now when Milo barks, Maisy will get punished with the bark control too. It's a little grey device that emits a tone only they can hear. Sigh...poor Milo. It must suck being that stressed out all the time. Oh wait, I'm Bi Polar. It DOES suck being that stressed out all the time. I wish he could talk or at least understand what I say to him. Then he'd know I am coming back and not to worry so much.

Okay, I have not idea. It's one of the reasons I don't do puppies. I have no idea how to counter that.

Wish I could help, but I can't. That's why I adopt adults, too.

Milo isn't a puppy. That would be Maisy. Milo is almost 4 and has had these issues since I got him at 5 months old. I love him so I guess we just keep on keepin' on.

Oh, wow, If he's 4 still messing his crate and not pooing outside, I'm not sure what you can do

Yeah, he's always been this way and I have no idea why. It's not like I leave him for my entire 12 hour shift. I used to be able to do that with Skyler and with Jesse but never with Milo. He goes from 6pm to just around midnight before I am home again to take him out. But, he's like this even when I am home. I have to take him out roughly every three hours. It's like he cannot hold it at all. He's been checked out by my vet several times but there isn't anything physically wrong with him. It's just part of who he is. Tiny bladder and either no ability or no desire to hold his functions...except when he's hunting.

*shrug* I dunno. I love him so I just deal with it. But it gets weird when he does in fact hold it for so long like he has started doing in the last couple of weeks.

I bet you're right and he's still adjusting to the move.

Awesome mom points for "I love him, so we'll just have to deal with it."

It's so hard when you are in a hurry and they just seem to dawdle more and more, the less time you have, the longer it takes.

Okay, I just thought of something I did with a foster that worked for her. She was from a mill and was used to being in a crate all the time and so messed in her crate. One of the rescue people advised me to put her in a small crate (she already was) and take all of her bedding and crate pads out. It appears that they don't like to be right in the mess and that cured her of it. It might be worth a try. It only took a week or so as I remember.

Yeah, did that already. He cared when he messed alright. Apparently he barked all night long, most like from the moment he messed until I got home.

I've had reports from my upstairs neighbors both here and at my old place. Any night they told me, "Well, he started barking at one point in the night and just never stopped." has been on nights when he messed in his crate.

I started leaving a blanket in there again when he got a really bad urine burn on his chest from laying in his own pee too much. When he poops, he puts his bum up against the bars of the crate so most of it lands outside or mashes into the bars. *Shakes head* My dog is mental.

Poor Maisy, she can hold it just fine now and I know it confuses here when he does what he does. But her, she has to come to bed with a leash on so I can have it around my wrist. She's started quietly getting down and then peeing NEXT to her wee pad. Now, there's a connection between us with the leash so I feel her trying to get down the ramp. By the time my Skyler was Milo's age, he'd be humiliated to have an oops in the house. But I can already tell with Maisy that she's pretty much going to be like Milo in that regard. "Yeah, that's my pee/poop....and your point? Clean it up already. It won't clean itself."
