    Default Sad News....

Lily was painful and not eating on Saturday so I suspected the cancer was back. It is...She has a tumor on her ribs on the left side. The vet did x-rays and said she couldn't tell if the stuff in the lungs was due to aging or metastasis. She is send the X-rays to OSU to have the specialist look at them. Lily is her normal self except being in pain. I don't want to put her through surgery and chemo again just for a few more months of life. She will be on tramadol to help with the pain and I will monitor her to make sure she still has a good quality of life. I don't know how long she has, this cancer (if it's osteosarcoma like before, which I suspect it is since it's on her ribs) is very agressive and fast moving.

So, please send Lily some and pray that she goes peacefully and pain free. She has had a long (will be 12 on 12/1) life and I hope a happy one the last 3.5yrs with me.

I'm certain that her time with you has been the very best of her life. You've taken wonderful care of her every need... And I suspect most of her wants, as well!

My heart breaks for you... I will share that the folks who say "you'll know" are right. Listen to your head and your heart. It takes a heart full of love (and some courage) to give a beloved fur-friend the final gift that is a painless crossing in the arms of someone she loves.

Big rays and prayers for both of you.
