Awww, I'm so sorry he's not doing well. Sending rayz. Is it the Cushing's meds that are bothering him? I know it can take some time to balance it. A specialist sounds good considering his age and other conditions.
Cass saw 2 specialists at a vet hospital I wouldn't go to otherwise when her rhinitis issues started (dental and internal med)... both specialists were great. Yours might just be there for the office space and not necessarily in line with the hospital's policy, management, etc.

Yes, the meds ruin his appetite and give him the diarrhea, plus other side effects. The employees at the ER hospital have been very careless and incompetent. So far, I've been happy with the specialists.
