One of Bus' favorite activities is digging- I like to take him to the beach to dig so I don't have to fill the holes in, but he's really not picky about where he does it. In dirt, he usually digs deep, broad holes; in sand, he digs long shallow trenches (1 weiner dog wide, 1 weiner dog deep, however long you let him!) and gets angry when water gets in Youtube tells me this vid is from 5 years ago, but I can tell you the activity still looks the same, lol Most of these I think are from 2011-2012ish, back when Annie was still pretty spry

Bus really likes the idea of burying toys, but has a hard time following through and not grabbing the toy back out. Annie could never understand the concept, and would sabotage him at every opportunity.

Bus' water obsession- fetching rocks (and tugging that piece of hose, it's still there, and he still randomly will play tug with it )

    Thanks

They do have tons of fun at the beach, luckily both of them have enjoyed it equally! Annie isn't really a digger, but would dig the toy out of the hole rather than stick her face in the sand- she's a diva :D

The ducks in the one video are wild, but those particular ones were sort of adopted by us after the mom duck got 1/2 of her upper beak cut off (boat prop accident? we never really knew) and we started feeding her because we noticed she couldn't forage effectively. She and all the babies would come up into the yard every evening for my Dad to feed them, and mom duck would get "soup" made of whole grain bread, cornmeal, etc, (initially with antibiotics, because the laceration extended into her cheek). The ducks were pretty tolerant of the dogs after a while, and though both dogs have pretty high prey drive, they never really bothered with them outside of minor interest. We were a little worried about them being overly imprinted on people, as they followed my Dad everywhere while he was outside, and would just come up and hang out around us in the yard all the time, but I don't know that they would have survived without intervention. By the time the babies were old enough that she would have been able to go to wildlife rescue, she had figured out her "disability" and gotten pretty good at scooping food up. We didn't see her after that year, and wouldn't know the babies from any other duck, so will never know how they made out long term :(

I do have some pics of the mom and babies, both right after her injury and she was looking good/babies almost grown

Mom roughly 5 weeks later (with some of her 7 almost grown babies- she didn't lose any- which is a feat for a healthy duck! )
