    Default What the hell, Savannah?

I got home about 9 last night and SJ was fine. Glad to see her mommy, normal. Took her out to potty and a few minutes after we got in, I was petting her as I read (it was dark) and noticed that her nose felt funny.

Flipped on the light and commence full-on freak out.

She is acting fine and frisky, tail is wagging and she's chewing her bone, she feels well... It's gone down some, but far from normal.

She did sniff around while we were out pottying last night, and of course she tried to get between the house and the boxwoods.

Did something bite her? Is there a mysterious poison plant back there?

    Benadryl? Wait and see?

oh no! Did you give her a benedryl? last summer Baxter must have been stung by a bee and his whole face and eyes swelled up. It went down by end of day after I gave him a benedryl but it didnt look nothing like this. Let us know what the vet says if you take her

I love my vet. I texted these pics to Dr. Brian at 6:15 this morning and he said "why didn't you call me last night?" Not because he thinks its going to be a big deal, but because he knew I'd be freaked slick out.

I met him at the office at 7:30, and he gave her a steroid shot to take some of the swelling down and minimize the itch. She was feeling fine and spunky this morning, but he decided he'd keep her at Dr. Brian Day Camp today so he could keep an eye on her.

Brody from the office called while ago with an update, and while the swelling hasn't gone down, SJ is still feeling good and happy. Brian will send her home with an antibiotic, because he is pretty sure those blisters are going to either burst on their own or she will rub them open... ick... and he wants to minimize the risk of infection. I am also going to give her half a benadryl twice a day for however long he said.

I was pretty frantic last night. She didn't yelp or anything, and I had no idea that anything had "got" her until I felt the bumps. In the dark.

Thanks everyone for the rays and thoughts. I'll update this evening when I retrieve her.
