Default Aaarrggghhh! There's Something Dead in My Living Room

I got home from work like normal. Went in and let the dogs out of their crates, took off my jewelry, my normal routine. I went out in the kitchen and put some stuff I had bought away, went outside and wiped bird doo off James car, came back in and did some more chores. Then . . . I went into the bedroom for something and there is a little bit of blood and feathers on the floor right inside the doggie gate. I start looking around, there are feathers in the study but I can't find a "body". I go outside and look in the side yard. I have no idea what has happened and can't find any sign that anything was killed. I go back in the house and start looking. Cash meets me in the hallway with feathers on his mouth and stuck to his fur. Nooooooooooooooooo! I wipe them off and clean up in the bedroom and start looking around in the house. When I turn on the lights in the living room, I see Cash down at the other end of the room with "something dead". OMG! I am SO not good with dead things. James stopped at the store to get weekend provisions so he's not here. I put the dogs outside and am now waiting for him to get home to do cleanup. I won't even go in the front hall. I went out the side gate and around to get the mail. Did I mention I'm not good with dead stuff???? I'm staying in the kitchen and waiting . . .

Sounds like a bird. Just a dachsie doing what a doxie does.

Jim to the rescue!!!! Cash just wanted to show you that there's life in the ol' boy yet...if not, unfortunately, in the poor bird. I have to deal with this a lot in the barn as our aging barn cats wreak mayhem on a variety of critters. For some reason it's always in the middle of the floor in the tack room *sigh*

((shivers)) I am not good with dead things either. RIP little birdie. I am always worried about squirrels, I check the yard before I let the dogs out, but it is still a concern.

I had some dead critter in the middle of my bed once, too. Worse, much worse, than the living room floor. *shudder*
