Angry Solid Gold Dog Food leaking oil from bag

So, Peaches and Piper are completely transitioned to Solid Gold dog food. I bought the large bag of the chicken and brown rice with vegetable dog food, and I keep the bag of food in a plastic dog food storage container in our pantry. When my husband lifted the bag, he noticed a significant amount of oil had seeped through the bag and was sitting at the bottom of the storage container. It was pretty disgusting. The food is in my kitchen pantry so the temp is regulated. Anyone else ever have this problem? I contacted the manufacturer, but I don't expect to hear back until Monday. I am not very happy right now.

Wow, I've never heard of that. I used to feel Solid Gold but haven't for a while. I never had anything like that happen.

I have used solid gold and have never experienced that. Yuck. I will say, solid gold has outstanding customer service and they will get back to you. I did contact them regarding a flax free formula and have several emails back and forth, and they were great.

I used Solid Gold in the past (the fish formula) and never had this happen.

Just got off the phone with them, and they acted like it was totally normal. Said I could bring the bag back for a refund if I wanted, but there is nothing wrong with oil leaking out of the bag. Unbelievable!

    Gross...nasty!

The fact they acted like it was normal amazes me and reminds me of Hooters we love their wings last time we ate there (5+ years ago) many of our 50 wings had feathers ...yes FEATHERS and when we called about it (it was a take out order) we were told that we were eating chicken and it was normal. The crazy person in me came out...in nearly 40 years I never had feathers in my chicken, nor did I ever have feathers in my wings from there....it was crazy and gross at the same time.

That response would have gotten the following one from me: If that's considered normal, then I believe you have some serious issues with your formulation and you've just lost a customer. *ewww*!

wow that is very strange. I too switched the boys to Solid Gold a couple months ago. Never had that happen. I never even noticed the food to be oily from the start. I am due to get another bag so I will see if that happens to us. I buy the large bag too, I pour 1/2 the bag into an airtight container and the rest stays in the bag clipped shut till I have to refill the bin.
