He's still favoring the leg a bit. But I can now stretch it out when this morning it was locked up. Again, it's a bit of a bum leg now but it is strong. Tonight he is slipping more than he did :-( going to keep an eye on him.

    Love him!

I've been thru back leg problems with 2 dogs, Miller and Scooter. Mostly it just took a lot of time to rest and rejuvenate. Could it be that he's strained it a bit?

Theo went down just before Rusty did. He walks perfectly 99% of the time, one would never know that he went down twice! However, every now and then, he will suddenly lift his left leg right up off the ground or he will limp for a second and then walk like nothing has happened. Use to freak me out but not anymore, its just something he does having IVDD. I think its nerves, his vet was not concerned about it. Sometimes when he is running, he will "skip" if he has to go over something like the little metal bar that separates the tiled kitchen floor from the living room floor. (can't think of the name in English) or if he is getting in his crate he will do a little hop. Sending lot of How is he today?

    Default Rusty's back leg

Thanks for asking, I'd like to say yes because he was ok but then a couple times today that leg got right under him and he slipped and fell. just now before they came inside from going out to potty he was down with that leg back behind him and he couldn't get back up. I ran out to get him. :-( I don't know what to do. It's never been straight since IVDD surgery but never bothered him till he locked it up the other day.

Edit: Wow, I just now realized it was 2 years ago today Rusty went down with IVDD. May 22 will be 2 years since he had surgery. So now that his leg is bothering me kind of freaks me out lol

I wonder if a session or two of chiro and some more physio/hydrotherapy might help?

I agree with Paula, I think this is worth some follow-up. they can get his leg sorted out.

I agree with Paula also. I've had some really good results with chiro on my dogs. Darby is past his one year mark of having back problems. We do chiro once every 6 weeks and he does fine.
