Default What the heck, Savannah Jane?

So SJ and I have been walking with our friend Kristi in the evenings about 3 nights a week, 3 miles a night.

Tonight after we got home, I went and got in the shower and she hopped up in the bed with DH. He was watching tv (lights off) and she LIFTED HER TAIL AND PEED.

IN MY BED! Soaked through the quilt, both sheets and the mattress pad. Thankfully didn't get the comforter or the mattress but WHAT THE HECK?

DH had a talk with her before I got out of the shower. Stripped the bed, and so begins the laundry.

The only thing we did different tonight is that I carried her to the house from the car - when I set her down at the car and she runs to the house, Rufus often aggravates her, running interference like a herding dog until I get him out of the way.

She hasn't been acting funny, and it was probably time to potty, but DH said she didn't go to the door and ask like normal.

    Grrrrrrr.

I guess when a girl's gotta go, a girl's gotta go. Other than that tidbit, I have no words of wisdom for you.

My very first thought is a UTI. And/or maybe the change in routine. I know when I bring my 3 back in the house after a walk, the first thing they have to do is go back outside into the yard, have a sniff and mark. Like making sure after all the "foreign" sniffs they need to make sure of "home sweet home." But peeing in/on the bed is very very cranky making!!! (Ferk!! )

Wow. That is not cool. After a long walk, maybe she just had to go but didn't want to get up?

The girls do this on occasion. We have no earthly idea why, other than they're DACHSHUNDS and sometimes the rules do not apply to them. They have PUPPY PADS to use.

Waterproof mattress covers are a wonderful thing.

She came into the bedroom, climbed doggie stairs to the bed in order to PEE ON MY BED!!

I'm betting she asked to go out at the back door and he didn't hear her. He doesn't have DogMOM hearing.

I'm convinced men either don't have DogMom hearing or choose to ignore it and wait for the real DogMom to respond. I suspect the latter
